day 1
Day 1: Berlin
The tour starts in Berlin, Germany’s capital city. Of course every Berlin visitor wants to walk under the Brandenburger Tor, Berlin’s only preserved town gate which became a symbol for the separated city as is was once located in “no man’s land” directly at the Berlin Wall. The Reichstag (parliament) with its new cathedral is the most visited monument in Berlin, its eventful history reflecting the turbulences of German history. Berlin´s “Museumsinsel”(Museum Island) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this “title” has also been rewarded to the castles and parks of the city of Berlin. Stroll along “Unter den Linden”, Berlin’s most beautiful street, the “old” heart of the city, leading from the Brandenburger Tor to the “Schlossbrücke”. Or how about Friedrichstrasse, this legendary road where the tradition of the “Golden Twenties” is combined with the architecture of the new Berlin. Visit the Memorial Church on Kurfürstendamm, the Gendarmenmarkt square which forms a beautiful and harmonious architectural synthesis with the Konzerthaus (concert hall). day 2
Day 2: Stralsund
Today a train will take you from Berlin to Stralsund in around 3 1 hours. Here in Stralsund you will enjoy the maritime flair and traditions of the Hanseatic period. Discover valuable evidence of that period amidst restored merchant family houses and imposing brick churches. You will discover the great influence of the Swedish rule which characterizes many buildings. Stralsund´s historic town has been awarded the status of UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002.

day 3
Day 3: Luebeck
After breakfast a train takes you to the wonderful city of Luebeck, Hafenstadt (seaport) and Hansestadt (Hanseatic city.) The train-ride takes around four hours, thru the Bundeslaender (provinces) of Brandenburg, Mecklenburg -Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein. The entire mediaeval Altstadt (Old Town) of Luebeck has been announced a UNESCO World Heritage Site. That alone makes a visit worth while, but Luebeck offers so many historic attractions and monuments that one day spend here might not even be enough. The people who call this their hometown refer to “their” city as “the northern gate to Europe”. Come and enjoy a proud city with a history that is still alive! day 4
Day 4: Bremen
Today the train will take you in about 3 hours to Bremen. This Hanseatic city is over 1200 years old, it used to be the center of the Christian missionaries for North- and Northeast Europe.
Bremen played a very important role as a Hansestadt (Hanseatic city) in mediaeval times, its tradition stamped by the influence of the traders. Bremen’s marketplace, surrounded by buildings from seven different centuries, is one of Germany’s most beautiful ones. The city’s town hall with its Renaissance architecture is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, together with the statue of the “Roland” on the Bremer marketplace and the famous bronze display of the Bremen Town Musicians on the town hall’s western side it is an incomparable tourist attraction. Take a walk thru the Schnoorviertel, Bremen’s oldest district, with its crooked streets and tiny squares, where some buildings reach back to the 15th and 16th century.
